Artist's Comments

My second painting practicing using my new oils... this is a scene from the coast of Oregon, sunset on the Pacific, the first time I've ever seen the pacific ocean. That was about five years ago, I took some great pictures that day.

18x24 oil on canvas

I had a hard time only choosing one painting in ~SAM-halfshark's wonderful gallery. I finally decided on Skeleton of a Shipwreck because of the wonderful balance of tone and harmony within the palette, and the warmth and overall composition. (Suggested by ~Rainandstars and Featured by `limnides)

Crashing water is one of the hardest things to paint, especially with oils. Good job!

Wow, I think oils have chosen you!!! Great job on this painting, all the elements work beautifully together and the shipwreck makes it more interesting, adding a human element to the composition!
